At around 7:12 a.m. staff at Grand Terrace Elementary School called 911 to report that a child was hit by a vehicle while on his way to school. The boy was hit at the intersection of Barton Road and Michigan Avenue.
Deputies and medical personnel responded to the scene and the child was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Deputies conducted an investigation and while following up were able to obtain high-resolution clear color video of the accident through the City of Grand Terrace. The Black 2006 Subaru SUV was clearly seen as well as the license plate.
On Sunday, November 13th the driver was identified as 50-year-old Gloria Rosales of San Bernardino. Deputies made contact with Rosales, who was cooperative throughout the interview on November 15th. Following the interview, the investigators determined that there was no criminal intent; therefore, no arrest was made. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney for review.
