PERRIS – Two men were arrested following an attempt to pay for marijuana with counterfeit bills and a subsequent robbery authorities said. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Bold Venture Street in the City of Perris on Monday, May 1, 2017.
Marcus Marshall, 25, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Tredrick James, 24, of Plaquemine, Louisiana arranged to purchase some marijuana from a marijuana dispensary employee. When paying, the suspect pulled out several counterfeit $100 bills. The victim confronted the suspect identifying the bills as being fake. The suspect grabbed the marijuana and fled on foot to a nearby home. The victim followed as he called for police assistance. The suspect exited the home and pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the victim
Marshall and James were inside the home when deputies arrived. Both were found to be in possession from items from other robberies, firearms, and narcotics. They were booked into the Southwest Detention Center for various charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
