MORENO VALLEY – A 20-year-old Perris woman was walking, when she was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night. The incident occurred in the intersection of Ironwood Avenue and Zantar Lane, just minutes before 10:13 p.m. The vehicle, described as a black sedan with significant front-end damage fled the scene as the woman landed in the roadway suffering from major injuries.
Moreno Valley Police, Fire Department personnel and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to the scene with in minutes. The victim, Tatiana Flores was rushed to the hospital where she died as a result of her injuries at 10:52 p.m.
Members of the Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team responded and are investigating this collision. All lanes of Ironwood Avenue were closed between between Heacock Street and Davis Street. It is expected the roadway will remain closed for several hours.
