LAKE ELSINORE – Two Lake Elsinore residents were arrested on Wednesday afternoon when they were caught by authorities in a stolen U-Haul box van. The Theft Suppression Team from the Lake Elsinore Police Department located the stolen vehicle in a motel parking lot on the 300 block of North Main Street.
Officers pulled the vehicle over as it was leaving the parking lot. When the officers made contact with the two occupants, 36-year-old Ryan McKendry and 28-year-old Amanda Foley in the vehicle they located stolen mail, credit cards, checks and credit card readers. Both subjects were also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
McKendry was arrested for theft and possession of the stolen vehicle, identity theft and possession of methamphetamine. Foley was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, identity theft, and an outstanding warrant for an unrelated theft case.
McKendry and Foley were booked into the Southwest Detention Center. Anyone with information about this investigation is encouraged to contact Officer Kenney Parrish at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at 951-245-3300.
