VICTORVILLE – Two suspects and a pawn shop employees are injured after gunfire was exchanged during a robbery on Tuesday afternoon. At 1:59 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the 15100 block of 7th Street for the report of an armed robbery in progress at the 7th Street Pawn Shop.
According to the reporting party two male adults, both armed with guns entered the store. The two asked about some game consoles and firearms that the shop had on display. “The suspects then told the employees they were being robbed and gunfire was exchanged between the two suspects and the armed employee,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. When deputies arrived, both the suspects and one of the three employees were injured as a result of the exchange of gunfire.
The injured suspects remained at the location and were taken into custody. The employee was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One of the suspects was transported to a local hospital and the second was airlifted to a trauma center. Both suspects are also expected to survive. Investigation of the incident is continuing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
