VICTORVILLE – The 99-year-old Spanish-speaking woman who was found walking with a cane northbound on El Evado Road near Mojave Drive last week was reunited with her family.
The woman was found on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at around 7:52 a.m. and taken to the Victorville Police Department. Authorities believed that she was possibly visiting family or friends from out of the country, but the woman was unable to provide any details. While speaking with deputies she told them that her name was Concepcion Ortiz. Hours later, just before 11:00 a.m. the elderly woman’s daughter called 911 to report her mother missing.
Her daughter said that her mother suffers from Alzheimer’s and left the home that morning to go for a walk without informing others in the house. The woman was reunited with her family at the Police Station.
