Victorville Federal Prison Riot Leads to Several Injuries

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A riot sent four inmates at the Federal Correctional Complex to the hospital on Monday evening.

At around 7:15 p.m., San Bernardino County Fire officials responded to the Federal Corrections Facility in the 13000 block of Air Expressway in the City of Victorville in response to a mass casualty incident. San Bernardino County Fire Department responded with two fire engines and five ambulances responded to the incident location. Fire officials said that a total of eight patients were triaged at the scene and four suffering from moderate injuries were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Due to the quick actions of prison staff placing the remainder of the inmates in lockdown, no other injuries were reported. It is unclear if any prison staff are injured at this time. Information will be updated as it is received.
