FONTANA, Calif. – Two teens, one from Victorville and the other a Fontana resident were arrested for a carjacking in Fontana.
On Saturday, March 9, 2019, at around 10:30 p.m. deputies from the Fontana station responded to the 9000 block of Beech Avenue in the City of Fontana. When they arrived they learned that two teen boys approached the victim as he parked his vehicle in the area. One of the teens pointed a silver handgun at the victim and demanded his wallet keys to the vehicle. The victim ran away from the vehicle and called 911. The two teens got into the vehicle and drove north on Beech Avenue.
Deputies arrived a short time later and searched for the suspects and the stolen vehicle. The teens were located quickly while driving the victim’s vehicle near Cherry and Randall Avenues. Both boys, a 16-year-old Fontana boy and a 17-year-old Victorville boy, were taken into custody. The handgun used in the carjacking was located during a search of the stolen vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was returned. The two suspects were booked at Juvenile Hall for Carjacking.
