VICTORVILLE – A Victorville man and Adelanto woman were arrested following a search warrant at a Victorville home on Thursday morning. At around 6:20 a.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Station, with the assistance of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Departments Specialized Enforcement Division, served a search warrant in the home in the 14300 block of Manzanita Road.
While searching the home, methamphetamine and items consistent with the sale of illicit drugs including a scale was found at the home. Also found was a flare gun, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, and ammunition. David Garcia, 34, and Ruby Mendoza, 22, were arrested at the home and were booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Garcia was booked for felon in possession of a gun, felon in possession of ammunition, sales of narcotics, possession of narcotics with a gun and outstanding warrants. Mendoza was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale and an outstanding warrant. Both Garcia and Mendoza are being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and are scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Monday afternoon.
Garcia has previous drug and weapon related convictions and Mendoza has at least one previous drug conviction.Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact Deputy Justin Carty or Deputy Justin McLean at the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, (760) 552-6801.
