Wildomar Woman Arrested at Postal Express in Corona for Credit Card Theft

CORONA – A 24-year-old Wildomar woman was arrested for an elaborate credit card theft scheme victimizing numerous victims.

Mattillie Kristine Wilson was arrested at Postal Express, located at 1240 East Ontario Avenue after investigators from the Menifee Police Department at the conclusion of their fraud investigation on Wilson. Authorities said that Wilson fraudulently obtained credit card and bank account information from victims and changed the accounts into her name. She then made multiple purchases over the internet using the credit card and/or banking information.

The investigation led to the Postal Express after investigators learned that she used the internet there to divert mail belonging to the victims by changing their addresses to her post office box address. Wilson was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for burglary, unauthorized access to computer systems, fraud, and receiving stolen property. She is being held in lieu of $60,000.

Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Investigator Lance Colmer at the Perris Station by calling (951) 210-1000, or by email at PerrisStation@riversidesheriff.org.

All residents are encouraged to check their bank accounts weekly and their credit report regularly through Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax to identify fraudulent activity in their name.  Residents can also track their incoming mail on a daily basis by visiting the United States Postal Service website at https://informeddelivery.usps.com/ Opens in New Window.
