Victorville Man Arrested After Residents Wake to Find Him in Their Home

VICTORVILLE, CA.– Victorville Sheriff’s officials responded to the 16300 block of Camelback Drive for the report of a robbery on Monday, October 7, 2019.

The caller told authorities that at around 12:53 a.m., he noticed that his bedroom door was open. When he went out to see why, he noticed the suspect, later identified as Edward Rivera, 19, of Victorville, who had broken into the home. The male resident confronted Rivera and the two struggled. The suspect swung at the resident, causing minor injuries. The resident hit the suspect with an object on the back of his head. Rivera fled the location but he was located a short time later.

Rivera was treated at a local hospital and was later booked at the High Desert detention center for first-degree robbery. Rivera is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail and is scheduled to appear  at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.
