ADELANTO, Ca. – A 20-year-old Victorville man was arrested for the murder of an Adelanto teen, authorities said,
Just before noon on Saturday, May 1, 2021, deputies from the Adelanto station responded to the 10700 block of Joshua Street for the report of a shooting. When they arrived they found 17-year-old Angel Martinez, of Adelanto suffering from a gunshot wound inside the home. Martinez was rushed to the hospital but died as a result of his injuries.
Homicide detectives conducted an investigation and learned that Tyrese Lawrence was involved in a verbal altercation with another man in the home. Authorities believe the two involved in the altercation were known to each other. Lawrence left the home but later returned armed. Lawrence shot into the occupied home from the road, then forced himself into the home. Lawrence shot Martinez and left the home.
On the morning of Sunday, May 2, 2021, Lawrence was located and booked at the Central Detention Center for Murder. Lawrence has two previous arrests in San Bernardino County, one for Assault and one for robbery. He was also sought by authorities after being suspected of engaging in illicit sexual activity with a minor but no conviction was shown for that incident.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is being released at this time.
