VICTORVILLE – A 20-year-old Victorville man was arrested for sodomy with force on Monday after deputies were called to investigate a reported rape.

Through investigation, deputies from the Victorville station learned that the suspect was at a home drinking and hanging out with the victim as well as others. The female victim left to use the restroom and the suspect, identified as Fernando Arzate, followed her and entered the restroom behind her.

Upon entering, Arzate began touching and kissing the victim, the news release said. The victim told him to stop, but he continued, eventually sodomizing the victim. He exited the restroom and was involved in a verbal altercation with others at the location prior to leaving.

Arzate was located at his home in the 19200 block of Amargosa Road in the City of Victorville where he was arrested at around 7:00 a.m. Monday morning. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court for an arraignment hearing on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
