Victorville Man Arrested for the Assault of his Sisters Ex-Boyfriend

HESPERIA – A 24-year-old Victorville man was arrested for two assaults, one of which caused major injuries authorities said. The assaults took place on August 5th and August 7th, both times the male victim went to Victor Valley Global Hospital. The assault on the 7th caused major injuries requiring that he was airlifted to a trauma center for more advanced treatment.

Hesperia station deputies were made aware of the incidents through the hospital staff, who reported the incidents to them. Through investigation, deputies learned that David Ponciano Lopez, the brother of the victim’s ex-girlfriend assaulted him both days.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 24th, Lopez was taken into custody at the Hesperia Station and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court Friday afternoon.
