ADELANTO – A 22-year-old Victorville man was arrested after he was found to be in the possession of multiple stolen checks on Thursday afternoon.
At around 4:15 p.m., Kevin Young went to the Chase Bank inside the Stater Bros. Market located at, 14168 U.S. Highway 395 in Adelanto. He took a $1,092.00 check in and requested to cash it. He signed the check and provided an identification card for the teller who called the owner of the check to verify prior to cashing it. The owner told the teller that the check was stolen, and the teller reported the incident to authorities.
The deputies arrived and made contact with Young, who was found to be in possession with additional checks stolen from other victims and methamphetamine. Young was booked into the High Desert Detention Center and is being without bail as a result of a probation violation.
