VICTORVILLE – Deputies from the Victorville station responded to the Dollar Tree store for a strong-arm robbery reported on Wednesday night.
Authorities said that at around 8:45 p.m. the victim, a 34-year-old Victorville man, said he was sitting behind the store when the suspect approached him and accused him of stealing his cell phone. “The victim denied stealing the phone and the suspect demanded his wallet,” said Victorville Sheriff’s station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “The suspect stole the victim’s credit card from the wallet and fled the scene.”
The suspect hit the victim during the confrontation causing injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, who was wearing a blue shirt and jeans. Deputies conducted an area check, but the suspect was not located.
