VICTORVILLE, Ca. – Authorities are asking for the public’s help with any information about a Christmas Eve shooting that killed a 34-year-old Victorville man.
At around 12:50 a.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2020, deputies responded to the Kimberly Apartments located at 15535 Kimberly Drive in the City of Victorville for several reports of shots fired in the parking lot. Subsequent callers stated that there was a man down in the parking lot as a result of the shooting. When deputies arrived a short time later, they located Peter Eugene Clayton, who was unresponsive and was pronounced deceased.
Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Through investigation, they were able to determine that Clayton arrived in his vehicle and parked in the parking lot. He made contact with the unknown suspect and was shot by the suspect, who fled on foot.
