VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A Victorville man will be facing murder charges after a domestic-violence shooting that left a mother of two dead.
Authorities said that Damien Hart, 37, fled the scene of a shooting on Sunday, October 11, 2020. After fleeing he drove down the 15 freeway south, with a woman and two children who have not yet been identified. Hart shot himself and collided into a silver sedan leaving the two vehicles disabled on the shoulder of the 15 freeway at Cleghorn Canyon at around 8:00 a.m.
The woman and two children were able to exit the vehicle unharmed, officials said in the news release. Hart remained in the vehicle for around two hours despite demands to exit from the CHP and Specialized Enforcement Division. He was rushed to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The adult female at the scene indicated concern for Kamyra “Kay Kay”Anise Leach, of Victorville, who was left at the home in the 12700 block of Trent Place in the City of Victorville. Deputies responded to the home just before 10:20 a.m. and located Leach deceased inside a bedroom of the home. Her cause of death was apparently gunshot wounds, sheriff’s officials said. The family of Leach has said that her death was related to Domestic Violence.
Through investigation Hart was identified as the suspect. No additional information is available for release at this time.
