VICTORVILLE – Surveillance footage at the Rodeway Inn, located in the 15300 block of La Paz Drive landed two men behind bars on Wednesday night. At around 10:50 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the motel for the report of a man with a gun. When they arrived they noticed an unoccupied vehicle crashed into an electrical box adjacent to the motel officials said.
The vehicle, a 2005 Honda was learned to be stolen out of the City of Fontana in February 2018. Deputies requested to view surveillance footage at the motel and clearly saw a male suspect, later identified as Noel Ramirez, 30, of Los Angeles, exiting the vehicle. Ramirez could be seen entering a room at the motel. Also captured on video was Jose Luis Ramos, 44, of Victorville, walking around the motel with a black bag. Ramos was walking toward the dumpster in the video. The deputies checked over by the dumpster and located the black bag with a handgun and Ramos’ wallet inside.
Ramirez was located inside the room he was captured on surveillance walking into. He was detained while it was confirmed that he was in fact, the man seen exiting the crashed vehicle. Ramos was located walking away from the scene and was detained. Both men were arrested, Ramirez for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Ramos, for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and for Violation of Probation.
