HESPERIA – A 31-year-old man was arrested on Monday evening for attacking his wife after spraying her with air freshener.
Richmond Wagner was involved in a verbal altercation with the female victim at a home in the City of Hesperia. The argument escalated, with Wagner eventually spraying the victim with air freshener and then physically assaulting her. The woman sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault but declined medical treatment officials said.
Wagner was arrested at the Hesperia Police Department. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Assault with a Caustic Chemical and Spousal Abuse. Wagner has an extensive criminal history and was also found to have an unrelated arrest warrant for Stalking.
He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Wagner denied all charges at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. He is scheduled to return to the Victorville Superior Court on the morning of Monday, May 21, 2018.
