VICTORVILLE – A 16-year-old Victorville boy, was arrested after being involved in two shootings and an attempted robbery Monday night.
At around 8:40 p.m. the suspect shot 22-year-old Victorville man who was with friends at Pebble Beach Park. The suspect, for reasons still under investigation, shot the victim in the shoulder. The victim was treated for the gunshot wound at a local hospital.
Less than two hours later, at 10:23 p.m. the teen suspect approached a vehicle parked in a retail center on Valley Center Circle. The parked vehicle was occupied by a Victorville couple and a young child. The man was ordered out of the vehicle and the suspect demanded his belongings. The woman told the suspect that the child was in the car during which time the male victim was able to get back in the vehicle and leave.
After the botched robbery attempt the suspect went to a shopping center located at 15235 Hook Boulevard and when approached by a security guard, he fired shots. The suspect continued chasing the guard while firing additional shots, none making contact with him.
Deputies from the Victorville station responded to the report and quickly spotted the suspect. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by deputies on Kimberly Drive. The deputies were able to recover the firearm and learned that the suspect had an outstanding warrant.
The teen was arrested and booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for attempted murder, participating in a criminal street gang, attempted carjacking, and robbery.
