VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A 24-year-old Moreno Valley woman died as a result of a traffic collision on US-395 on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
At around 6:07 a.m. deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to a traffic collision near Dos Palmas Road. When they arrived they found a 2011 Toyota Camry and a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, which had both sustained major front-end damage.
The woman who was driving the Toyota was extricated from her vehicle and although a helicopter landed on the highway in preparation to airlift her, she was not stable enough for air transport. She was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where despite life-saving measures, she died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The area of the collision was closed until around 8:45 a.m. in order to investigate and clear the collision. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. The name of the deceased woman will be released at a later time so that her family can first be notified.
