VICTORVILLE – A 7-year-old boy was assaulted by a 45-year-old woman while riding his scooter on Sunday afternoon. The child was riding near his Victorville home at around 3:56 p.m. when the unknown female, later identified as Lori Ann Talai got out of a truck that was parked on the street and hit him on top of his head with a foot-long rubber hose.
“The boy ran home and told his father, who followed the woman and was able to direct deputies to her location,” said Victorville Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. The boy complained of pain to his head, but did not require medical care at the scene. Talai was located in the 16000 block of Midway Street, arrested, and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for child cruelty where she is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
