VICTORVILLE – A 25-year-old Victorville woman was arrested on Sunday evening at around 3:20 p.m. after sheriff’s dispatch received a report of a verbal altercation. When a deputy from the Victorville station responded to the 13200 block of Brighton Circle they learned that Chelsea Shelnut, 25, had been staying with family members at the location since Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
“During the time she was there, she reportedly touched a nine-year-old female and a six-year-old female, in a sexually inappropriate manner,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said.
Shelnut, who has an extensive criminal record and was out on Post Release Community Supervision for an unrelated assault charge, was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. She is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail and scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday evening.
