APPLE VALLEY – The woman who was killed as a result of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in Apple Valley has been identified as 61-year-old Renee Fitzpatrick. On Friday, October 21, 2016, at around 6:30 p.m. Fitzpatrick was hit and killed on Navajo Road near Highway 18.
The family of Fitzpatrick said that she was assisting a friend with a get together following the memorial service for his deceased mother just before noticing she had to pick up a prescription across the street. In all dark clothing, Fitzpatrick attempted to cross the street and was struck by a Chevy pickup truck.
When emergency medical personnel responded to the scene they determined that Fitzpatrick was dead on arrival. The truck that was involved in the collision remained at the scene.
