VICTORVILLE – A Friday afternoon incident that was first reported as a verbal altercation at the Rodeway Inn located on the 15300 block of La Paz Drive at 1:46 p.m. escalated into a stabbing just 15 minutes later authorities said.
The approximately 33-year-old victim was described as a black man that was reportedly in front of the office area bleeding profusely and losing consciousness at some points.
When emergency personnel arrived they located the man with at least one stab wound to his leg. A blood trail went from rooms #111 or #112 to where the victim collapsed near the office.
Per scanner traffic, the man was transported by ground ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center to prepare to be airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The suspect was described as a female with brown hair with blue streaks. It is unclear at this time if the female suspect is Hispanic, Black or if there are two suspects, as witnesses are providing conflicting suspect information.
Deputies are investigating the scene and reviewing surveillance footage. It is unclear if the suspect is still at large or if an arrest has been made.
