RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A young mother of a 1-year-old child lost her life following a Rancho Cucamonga traffic collision early Friday morning.
This is the second who died as a result of the collision, with the first being 21-year-old San Bernardino resident, Emauri Scott who died at the scene of the crash. Scott was the front seat passenger at the time of the collision.
A California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer was traveling westbound on the 210 freeway near Archibald Avenue when he noticed vehicle headlights facing the wrong direction in the opposing lane of the freeway. When he approached the gold Sebring in the dirt area between the eastbound lanes and the Archibald Avenue onramp.
CHP officials said that it appeared as though the vehicle had rolled over before coming to a rest.
Claudia Flores-Orantes, 20, of Rialto was the right backseat passenger. She was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Claudia Flores Orantes was pronounced deceased as a result of her injuries on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 5:45 p.m. Claudia leaves behind a Leanne, her 1-year-old daughter.
The family has set up a Go Fund Me account to help raise funds for any costs that may arise as a result of her untimely death.
The collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
