VICTORVILLE – A 12-year-old girl was rushed to Desert Valley Hospital in grave condition after being shot on Wednesday night.
At around 8:25 p.m. deputie from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to the 17000 block of Monaco Drive in the CIty of Victorville for the report of a gunshot wound victim. When they arrived they found the girl not breathing and without a pulse. Emergency medical personnel began CPR on the girl.
The suspect is described as a Black male adult, mid-age, who was driving a 2009 4-door Kia Rio. The suspect fled southbound on Palermo Avenue. Witnesses reported four shots were fired, it is unclear how many hit the girl. The suspect was apparently familiar to the victim or her family due to the fact that they named an Adelanto resident who he is related to.
Deputies are at the scene conducting witness interviews and requesting surveillance footage from surrounding neighbors. The incident remains under investigation at this time. Information will be updated as it is received.
UPDATE: The victim’s paternal grandmother confirmed that the girl lost her life as a result of the shooting.
