ONTARIO-Sheriff Investigators arrest a woman on suspicion of ID Theft, and in possession of up to 100 victims personal identity papers.
On May 12, 2017, at around 4:38 pm, an identity theft victim contacted the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department stating that their account was currently being used at the Double Tree Hilton Resort in Ontario. An Investigator contacted the staff at the establishment regarding the fraudulent activity, which they stated that they had also been contacted, and were in the process of removing the occupant.
An investigator arrived at 222 N. Vineyard Ave. in the city of Ontario where he located the suspect, identified as Tami Stewart, a 36-year-old female from San Bernardino. Stewart was found to be in possession of up to 100 victims personal documents. She was arrested for identity theft (PC530.5A), being in possession of more than ten victim’s personal information (PC530.5C3), a probation violation (PC1203.2), and 10 additional charges. She was booked into West Valley Detention Center with a no-bail hold.
