ADELANTO – The opening of any business, both small and large is essential for the economic growth of a city. The City of Adelanto recognized three small businesses who recently opened within the city creating employment for dozens of Victor Valley residents. Each of the three recognized businesses felt that Adelanto would be the best place for their business due to the minimal like businesses in the community.
Recently opening was Louisiana Fried Chicken, Crispy Crust Pizza, and Six Bean Coffee. Adelanto residents urged the owners of Louisiana Fried Chicken to open an Adelanto location and decided to heed the requests by opening their Adelanto location. Crispy Crust Pizza like Louisiana Fried Chicken chose the location in the Weaver Plaza just west of CA-395 on Cactus Road due to its close proximity to residents. “For a name that’s new and not a franchise pizza shop, business has been good,” said Owner John Yassa. Yassa is not new to pizza, he opened his first pizza shop in 2002 in the City of Glendale. He says that when a new shopping center opens in the City of Adelanto he will be opening up a second Adelanto location.
Six Beans Coffee is the newest of the three and on August 14th opened its doors in a mobile unit located at the City Hall. “Business has been very good that we have expanded from being open from 7 am to 2 pm, to 6 am until 6 pm, said Co-owner Jessica Nicklason. With a location in Apple Valley with a double drive-thru and walk-up window, Nicklaus felt it was a good idea to bring the same hand crafted coffee options to the City of Adelanto. “We are currently scouting for a brick and mortar location to hopefully have a set-up similar to our Apple Valley location.” Co-owners Brian and Jessica Nicklason relocated to California from Oregon in 2015, where they joined their friends Nick and Lotsie Pappas to open the Apple Valley store. When asked the origin of the “Six Beans” name, Nicklason said that it represented the children between the Nicklason and Pappas families.
“Businesses of all sizes are now realizing that not only are there abundant opportunities in our city, but that our Council and staff have created a business friendly environment to streamline the process to establish business in the city,” said the Adelanto Mayor Richard Kerr. All three businesses were awarded a Certificate of Recognition at the August 23rd City Council meeting for creating jobs and generating tax revenues that contribute to the overall well-bring of the City of Adelanto.
