ADELANTO – An Adelanto couple was arrested for cruelty to a child causing injury after a domestic dispute on Sunday left one child injured. On Sunday, September 11, 2016, just before 1:30 p.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Station were dispatched to the report of a domestic disturbance in the 14400 block of Columbia Street in the City of Adelanto.
When deputies arrived, they learned that the male and female subjects, Teaira Palomares, 35 and Hilario Hernandez, 31 were involved in a domestic dispute. Palomares and Hernandez, are the parents of the children, who live at the home. Hernandez, who allegedly assaulted on of the children, while threatening the other children and female at the home was gone on deputy arrival. Deputies attempted to locate Hernandez to no avail.
The following day, a deputy followed up with the child, who had been assaulted to find out if the child had received medical care. The deputy learned that Hernandez later returned to the home. Deputies responded back to the home to make contact with Hernandez, but Palomares was uncooperative. Hernandez returned to the home and was arrested. The children were placed in the custody of Children and Family Services and Hernandez and Palomares were both attested.
Both are charged with misdemeanor cruelty to a child and Palomares is also being charged with intimidating a witness. Hernandez remains at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. Palomares is also at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
