VICTORVILLE – A 30-year-old Adelanto man was arrested for the possession of a firearm after a Victorville traffic stop on Tuesday night.
During a traffic stop at around 10:52 p.m. in the area of Starshine and Pluto Drives a Victorville deputy made contact with the driver, Devion Earl Barris. While speaking with Barris, the deputy noticed a bag containing marijuana sitting on the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Barris was found to be a felon and a search was conducted on the vehicle. During the search, a handgun was located.
Since Barris was a convicted felon, he was prohibited from possessing a firearm and was arrested. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center.
