PALM SPRINGS – A Palm Springs man was arrested for the suspicious death of his girlfriend earlier this year officials said.
On March 15, 2017, James Beushausen reported that he found his girlfriend dead inside the home in the 600 block of N. Belardo Road in Palm Springs. Immediately, the death was found to be suspicious leading to investigation throughout the months following. On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Beushausen, who had fled to McAllen, Texas (approximately 7 miles from the Mexico border).
Palm Springs investigators flew to McAllen, Texas on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, where the found Beushausen in the parking lot of a shopping center. Beushausen was arrested without incident and booked into the McAllen Police Department City Jail for Murder and two counts of possession of a rifle. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Beushausen is pending extradition back to California.
