Apple Valley Man Arrested for Shooting Quad Rider in the Back with Pellet Gun

APPLE VALLEY – A 32-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested for shooting a man with a pellet gun in his back on Sunday evening.

Deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to the 22400 block of Rancho Street in Apple Valley at around 5:55 p.m.for the report of the shooting. When they arrived they learned that the male victim was riding his quad down a utility easement, when the suspect, later identified as Garrett Dimond, exited his home and shot him in the back with his pellet gun. The victim was bleeding as a result of his injury and was treated by a paramedic at the scene.

Deputies responded to the 9400 block of Bella Vista Street on Monday and made contact with Dimond at this home. Through investigation, deputies learned that Dimond shot the victim because he was upset that he was riding his quad by his home. Dimond was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Battery on Person. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Monday, April 2, 2018.
