APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – An Apple Valley man was arrested after stabbing his brother in the abdomen during an argument about the care of their elderly mother.
On Sunday, February 6, 2021, at around 12:25 p.m. deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to the 20000 block of Nisqually Road in the Town of Apple Valley for Clifton Buckhalter, 45, the report of an assault. When they arrived they learned that Clifton Buckhalter and his 32-year-old brother were involved in an argument regarding the care of their mother, Buckhalter pulled out a razor blade and slashed his brother in his abdomen.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for the treatment of his injuries. Buckhalter left the location before the deputies arrived. An arrest issue was authored for his arrest. Buckhalter was located at his home and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon and was later released on bail.
