APPLE VALLEY, CA. – A 19-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested for stabbing his 23-year-old male acquaintance, authorities said.
On Saturday, January 9, 2021, at around 6:56 p.m. deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to the 20000 block of Wisconsin Street in the Town of Apple Valley in response to the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, the suspect was identified as Cody Dupnik. Through investigation they learned that Dupnik had stabbed the victim twice in the neck during an argument. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
The following day, deputies made contact with Dupnik, who was arrested for attempted murder. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on January 12, 2021.
