BARSTOW – An 18-year-old male suspect was arrested in Barstow after an armed robbery in the area of East Main Street and Second Avenue.
On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at around 2:51 p.m. officers from the Barstow Station responded to the report of a robbery. When they arrived they located the victim who told them that he was walking through a parking lot at the southeast corner of South Second Avenue and East Main Street. He said that the suspect, who was described as being a skinny black male made contact with him, pushed him to the ground, pointed a handgun at him, and stole his wallet from his pocket. The suspect who was wearing skinny black sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt then fled on foot running southbound through the parking lot.
During the interview with the victim, a detective made contact with a male suspect who had a matching description. The suspect, Eric Marveontai Spinks was positively identified by the victim as the person who robbed him at gunpoint. Spinks was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Armed Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
