YUCAIPA – A male suspect was arrested in connection with the armed robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank in Yucaipa Saturday.
The robbery occurred at the bank located inside the Vons supermarket located at 33644 Yucaipa Boulevard when the male suspect, identified as 32-year-old Redlands resident, Jeff Haley approached the teller with a handwritten note. The note demanded money and the suspect then showed the teller the gun that was in his waistband authorities said.
The teller opened the cash drawer and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. Haley fled in a Kia Soul, with a getaway driver, later identified as 51-year-old Yucaipa resident, Robin Gurule.
While patrolling on the 12000 block of Douglas Street in Yucaipa, the Yucaipa Police recognized the suspect vehicle parked at a residence. Detectives searched the home locating evidence from the robbery.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at a home on the 800 block of Webster Street in the City of Redlands where additional evidence was found. Hailey was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. As of the morning of Wednesday, August 31st here are no inmate records for the getaway driver, Gurule.
