ADELANTO, Calif. – A 23-year-old Helendale woman who died as a result of a traffic collision has been identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office.
Nicole Mendoza was driving a white 2006 Ford Focus eastbound on Shadow Mountain Road west of River’s Edge when for reasons that remain under investigation, she lost control of the vehicle. The Ford sedan overturned into the open desert area. Shortly before 8:00 a.m. her vehicle was located east of CA-395, in the open desert near Shadow Mountain Road. California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officers and emergency medical personnel respinded to the scene where Mendoza was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mendoza was the only occupant in the vehicle, no other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved in the collision. Mendoza leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter.
