Bloomington, Calif. – An 18-year-old San Bernardino man is deceased after walking across the lanes of traffic on the I-10 freeway on Thursday morning.
At around 5:08 a.m. the unidentified pedestrian was walking across the I-10 westbound, west of Cedar Avenue in Bloomington. Gilberto Estrada Godoy, 49, of Rialto was driving his 2005 Toyota Corolla westbound, also west of Cedar Avenue. Godoy continued to drive and struck the pedestrian with the front of the Toyota. Godoy stopped and was cooperative with the investigation.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene. His identity is being withheld so that his family can first be notified. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the CHP- San Bernardino Office.
