PALM SPRINGS – Two Palm Springs men were arrested as a result of a drug-related search authorities said. On December 8, 2016, deputies from the Palm Desert station, the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force (CVNTF), and the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Task Force served a search warrant in the 38-400 block of the South Palm Canyon and the 5000 block of East Waverly Drive in Palm Springs.
During the search authorities located over $390,000 worth of narcotics, including 21 pounds of methamphetamine. Also located was 54 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, around $7,000 in cash and items consistent with the sales of narcotics. Phillip Prieto, 56, and Juan Gonzalez, 43, were both booked into the Indio Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sales and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
