RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – A Riverside woman was shot and killed by a vehicle burglar across the street from her home.
On Thursday, June 6, 2019, a male subject called 911 to report a shooting in the 3800 block of Cedar Avenue in the Downtown area of Riverside. Police and paramedics quickly arrived and found the woman, later identified as 50-year-old Linda Ferguson suffering from a single gunshot wound. She was rushed to a local hospital where despite lifesaving measures, she died as a result of the shooting.
During the investigation they learned that a male victim interrupted a vehicle burglary across the street from where he and Linda reside. “He shouted at the suspect, who then got into the passenger side of a white sedan,” police said. “ A few moments later, a single gunshot was fired into the residence and the suspect vehicle was seen leaving the area. “ There is no suspect information at this time.
