BEAUMONT, Calif. – Authorities are attempting to locate a female suspect who took an envelope with cash in it that belonged to another person. The owner of the envelope had accidentally left it on the counter after making a purchase at the Rite Aid on Oak Valley Parkway in the City of Beaumont.
“We would like to assume this person found the envelope and is attempting to locate the owner as we speak, but after watching video surveillance of her thumb through the envelope, realize it was an envelope of cash, then watch her attempt to conceal picking it up with her cellphone and purse, we believe she might have other intentions,” Beaumont Police officials said.
Anyone who can identify the woman should contact 951-769-8500. “This is considered grand theft…not finders keepers,” police officials added.
