YUCAIPA – Authorities are asking for help to locate a 19-year-old Calimesa woman who is wanted for residential burglary. On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at around 4:36 p.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Station responded to the 13300 block of Oak Glen road for an audible burglar alarm. When they arrived they found that the home had been broken into, but the suspects were scared off by the alarm. Although the suspects did make entry into the home, nothing was taken from the home.
Shortly after, at around 4:55 p.m. a nearby resident in the 36900 block of Wildwood Canyon, arrived. To his surprise, two females, one Hispanic juvenile and one White adult female, were taking items from his home and loading them into their vehicle. The two females fled on foot, climbing a hill into a wooded area, leaving the vehicle behind. An extensive search of the area using ground and aerial patrols was conducted to no avail.
Nearly two hours later, at 6:45 p.m. a nearby resident in the 36900 block of Oak View Road reported that an unknown female ran out of their yard. Deputies responded and located the 16-year-old female suspect attempting to flee the area on foot. Authorities were able to identify her as one of the suspects involved in both burglaries and took her into custody. She was booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall, where she is being held without bail.
After a search of the vehicle left at the scene of the second burglary, deputies were able to determine that Shaylee Gibbons, 19, of Calimesa, was the second suspect involved. Detectives have been unable to locate Gibbons, who has an arrest warrant on an unrelated case. Authorities believe that Gibbons remains in the Yucaipa area and is being hidden by friends. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the Yucaipa Police Department.
