VICTORVILLE – Authorities are seeking the identity of a suspect in a small dark color sedan who attempted to rob two females and struck them with a machete-type weapon when they resisted.
The first robbery occurred on Monday, August 27, 2018, at around 11:00 p.m. in the 12500 block of Table Rock Lane in the Eagle Ranch area of Victorville. The female adult victim arrived home and parked in the driveway. As she got out of her vehicle and started walking to the front door of her home a small dark-colored vehicle drove up and stopped in the street in front of her home. The driver got out of the vehicle and ran toward the woman and attempted to take her purse. The woman attempted to stop the theft and an altercation occurred. The suspect struck the woman with a large machete-style weapon then fled the scene. The woman sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.
On Saturday, September 1, 2018, at around 10:30 p.m. a juvenile female arrived home and parked in her driveway in the 14800 block of Coachman Road in the Brentwood area of Victorville. She got out of her vehicle and a small dark-colored sedan stopped in the street in front of her home. The male driver got out of the vehicle and ran toward the victim. He attempted to take her purse and the suspect struck the victim with a large machete-style weapon before fleeing the scene. The woman sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Authorities believe that the same suspect was involved in both of these crimes. The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 16 and 24, approximately 5’09” to 6’00”, with a very thin build. In both incidents, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and driving a small dark colored sedan.
