TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – An 18-year-old Twentynine Palms man was severely injured after a stabbing on Sunday.
At around 12:05 p.m. deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to an assault call in the 5400 block of Daisy Avenue in Twentynine Palms for the report of an assault. When they arrived they located Kameren Johnson suffering from a stab wound to the left side of his chest. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Through investigation, they learned that Cody Pangle, 25, of Joshua Tree, entered the home where Kameren Johnson was visiting friends. For reasons that remain under investigation, Pangle stabbed Johnson with a knife once on the chest. Johnson was seriously injured as a result of the stabbing.
Pangle left the location with his girlfriend, Christa Thomas, 22, of Twentynine Palms, in a tan 1997 Toyota Corolla with Montana License plate #399761B. Deputies did an extensive search for Pangle and Thomas, but they were not located. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
