TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – A 40-year-old Twentynine Palms woman, who recently moved from the Town of Apple Valley, was arrested for human trafficking of a juvenile and production of child pornography.

In March 2019, deputies from the Morongo Basin Station received information from the Department of Children and Family Services regarding the possible sexual exploitation of a minor. The report sparked an intense investigation which led to the discovery that during the month of August in 2018, the suspect, Catherine Englebrick took nude pictures and pornographic video of the victim.

The photos and video were learned to be sold using social media, officials said. “Englebrick also attempted to persuade the victim into having sex with an adult male in exchange for a cellular phone,” the Sheriff’s news release stated. As part of the investigation, a search and arrest warrant were obtained. On Monday, April 30, 2019, these were served at Englebrick’s home in the 6500 block of El Rey Avenue.

Englebrick was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for human trafficking of a juvenile, and production of child pornography.
