RIVERSIDE – Clear images of a battery thief, who disguises himself as a maintenance worker and his vehicle have been obtained by the Riverside Police Department. Detectives are asking for your help to identify the suspect who is believed to be responsible for multiple thefts throughout the City of Riverside.

“The suspect approaches communication housing boxes, which is located on the sidewalk, and is targeting the heavy duty batteries inside the housing box,” Riverside Police officials said. The male suspect is seen in the photos wearing an orange reflective vest and a hard hat, similar to those who are authorized to be working on the equipment. He was last seen driving a white 2004 2-door Pontiac sedan.

Anyone who may have information regarding these incidents or the suspect’s identity is asked to please contact Detective Knoffloch with the Riverside Police Department’s North Neighborhood Policing Center at (951) 826-8718 or at RKnoffloch@riversideca.gov
