YUCAIPA – A vehicle went up in flames on Saturday morning and investigation into the incident determined it was a result of arson authorities said. At around 10:48 p.m. deputies and fire personnel responded to the car fire in the area of Highway 38 and Bryant Street in Yucaipa.
Cal Fire and U.S. Forestry Fire quickly contained the fire, which had fully involved the vehicle and spread to brush. The suspicious nature of the fire, lead the to the Sheriff’s Arson and Bomb Division response and investigation. The investigation revealed that the vehicle fire was set.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved in the arson. Detectives are attempting to locate the owner of the vehicle.
