BARSTOW, Calif. – The Barstow City Council has approved a temporary warming and cooling center located at 516 E. Williams Street. The non-profit organization running the center is Dignity Station. Dignity Station is a non-profit organization that helps homeless artists to make a positive impact in the economy and earn money with the art that they create.
The dog-friendly warming and cooling center will provide a temperature controlled environment, which has a sleeping area, a restroom, information and referrals, case management, no-fee ID vouchers, food and other services. All is provided by a friendly and caring staff. The center is open is open from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. in winter when the temperature is under 45 degrees or in the summer from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. when the temperatures are over 95 degrees.
